Just by turning into an unlikely driveway off of unlovely Piedmont Road, you can step back
to a time before the "War of Northern Aggression." Anthony's restaurant's
building dates back to 1797 and, though it's been carefully dismantled, moved from its
original plantation site, and rebuilt, dining inside evokes a definite feeling of history.
The many small dining rooms are cool and intimate, and the service is quite friendly. A
Classical Revival plantation house brought from southeast Georgia to a spot off Piedmont
Road now hums as a restaurant. |
