Descriptions:
Bacchanalia is lodged in a small, two-story brick house, with beautiful antiques and
suitably upholstered new furniture. There are several small dining rooms, each very
intimate but not crowded. The front door opens from a charming herb garden, and the
general ambiance within is friendly and conducive to comfortable dining. The amibitious
and compelling California Nouvelle menu changes daily. In a modest former residence,
comfortably spaced tables accommodate eager diners in an understated decor. Dazzling
dishes take inspiration chiefly from Mediterranean sources, with occasional Asian touches.
The four-course prix-fixe menu has plenty of options. The dishes change weekly and may
include exquisite saut�ed foie gras, selected American farmstead cheese, and perfect
squab with wild mushrooms. An excellent four-course vegetarian menu goes for $40. No
