This popular place, in an 1823 warehouse, is cherished by Charlestonians and visitors
alike. The magnolia theme is seen throughout in vivid Rod Goebel paintings, etched glass,
wrought iron, and candlesticks. The uptown down-South cuisine shines in specialties like
the Down South egg roll stuffed with chicken and collard greens with spicy mustard sauce
and sweet pepper puree. Equally innovative appetizers are seared yellow grits cakes with
tasso gravy and yellow corn relish, and saut�ed greens. There's even fried chicken with
mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. You may also want to try the Blossom Caf� (171 E. Bay
